From 2007 to 2009, Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces Marine Fisheries Department promoted and used Xi'an Tianhou Company's Boston type diesel fuel purifier on the fishing boats, and installed and applied 1700 sets of diesel fuel purifier, which produced the effect of reducing maintenance cost, black smoke and fuel consumption. 2008 Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Department commissioned Zhejiang Fangyuan Inspection Group Company Limited to conduct comparative test on the change of fuel consumption before and after installing the Boston type diesel fuel purifier on the fishing boats, and the result showed that fuel consumption was reduced by 5.06% on average.
